About Dr. Marianne Day
Dr. Marianne Day, a Las Cruces native, has been involved with dentistry for over 30 years. Her skills and experience make her a trusted dentist. She started working for a local orthodontist while an undergraduate at New Mexico State University. After completing her studies, Dr. Day was accepted to the University of Washington School Of Dentistry. Graduating in 1979, she was one of the first handfuls of women to do so. Dr. Day continued her education on the East Coast as the first woman resident at the University of Maryland Advanced General Dentistry Residency. This allowed for study at the Armed Forces Institutes of Pathology, Walter Reed Medical Center.
Work continued with service through the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps as a Lieutenant in the Navy. Stationed at the Talihina Indian Hospital as Chief of Dental Staff, Dr. Day headed the hospital-based dental dental practice, inpatient care, and three outlying dental practices, staffed with three dentists and 11 assistants. Her work received special ribbons and honors.
Returning to New Mexico to become the first woman Las Cruces dentist, Dr. Day initially practiced as an associate and then opened the Mesilla Valley Center for Dental Medicine in 1987. The dental practice moved to its present location in 1992.
Dedicated to providing her patients the best dental care and treatment possible, Dr. Day believes that no one should feel pain or discomfort during a dentist visit. From general to cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Day’s dental practice offers dental solutions that are tailored to her patients’ individual needs and concerns.
The oral health is a window to a person’s overall well-being – both physical and psychological. Dr. Day has an interest in patients who have special dental health concerns.
Not only can dentists help patients look and feel good, regular dental checkups can reduce the risks of heart disease, stroke, and premature births – to name a few. It is to her patients’ good health, that Dr. Day commits her expertise as a good and reliable dental professional.
